Last Forest School Families project session

Saturday 16th November 2019 Charity Nature Vibezzz ran the last project free family forest school Saturday session in Knight’s Hill Wood.

The session activities involved litter picking and planting trees around the woodland boundary.

Nature Vibezzz would like to thank everyone who has taken part in project activities over the last year.

Last Forest School Families after school session at Fern Lodge

Charity Nature Vibezzz ran the last of 3 addtional Forest School Families project free after school sessions at Fern Lodge Estate Village Hall 3:30pm to 5:30pm Wednesday 13th November 2019.

The forest school after school club was held at Fern Lodge housing estate where children enjoyed free play, air hockey, table football, board games, climbing, rope swing, role play games, and art. The children made made vegatable pizzas, which they all eat before the end of the session.

Last Free Family Forest School At Plumstead Common

On Sunday 10th November 2019 charity Nature Vibezzz ran the last project free forest school activity session for families at Plumstead Common Nature Reserve.

These free forest school sessions was made possible through the support of Friends of Plumstead Common and permission of Greenwich Borough Council staff.

Families hunted bugs around the woodland site, took part in nature scavenger hunt and played on rope swing. The participants learnt how to cook bread on a camp fire and how to safely make a fire including using flint and steel to make sparks, billhook to chop wood and different techniques for wood to be set in place.

The session finished with hot chocolate and biscuits.

We hope to be back at Plumstead Common with more free Family Forest School sessions soon.

Nature Vibezzz at Palace Rd Nature Gardens

1pm to 3pm Friday 8th November 2019 charity Nature Vibezzz ran the last of 2 free forest school activity sessions for families at Palace Rd Nature Gardens. The session was part of Nature Vibezzz weekly Friday (school term time) sessions at Hillside Gardens Park and Palace Rd Nature Gardens.

The session activities involved a tree ID  around the nature gardens and playing musical instruments provided by Friends of Hillside Gardens Park and Palace Road Nature Garden.

After school club go on adventure through Streatham Common in dark

Charity Nature Vibezzz ran the second of 3 addtional Forest School Families project free after school sessions at Fern Lodge Estate Village Hall and Streatham Common 3:30pm to 5:30pm Wednesday 6th November 2019.

Next week Nature Vibezzz will be running the last Forest School Families after school session at Fern Lodge Estate Village Hall 3:30pm to 5:30pm Wednesday 13th November 2019.

The forest school after school club started at Fern Lodge housing estate where children enjoyed free play, air hockey, table football, board games, climbing, rope swing, role play games, and art. The children enjoyed a healthy fruit snack before they was taken on a adventure, walking through Streatham Common woodland in the dark.

Saturday 9th November Forest School moved to 16th November

This Saturday 9th November 2019 Forest School session has been moved to Saturday 16th November 2019.

The session will be run 2pm to 4pm at Knights Hill Wood, Knights Hill, West Norwood, London, SE27 0QA.

Free Family Forest School At Plumstead Common

On Sunday 3rd November 2019 charity Nature Vibezzz ran a free forest school activity session for families at Plumstead Common Nature Reserve.

There will be one more session at Plumstead Common Nature Reserve 2pm to 4pm Sunday 10th November 2019.

These free forest school sessions was made possible through the support of Friends of Plumstead Common and permission of Greenwich Borough Council staff.

Families hunted bugs around the woodland site, made book markers and played on rope swing. The participants learnt how to whittle using peelers, first whittling carrots to practice and then using elder sticks to make bug hotels. The session finished with healthy fruit snack.

Free forest school session for families at Palace Rd Nature Gardens

1pm to 3pm Friday 1st November 2019 charity Nature Vibezzz ran a free forest school activity session for families at Palace Rd Nature Gardens. The session is part of Nature Vibezzz weekly Friday (school term time) sessions at Hillside Gardens Park and Palace Rd Nature Gardens.

The session activities involved a nature scavenger hunt around the nature gardens and playing musical instruments provided by Friends of Hillside Gardens Park and Palace Road Nature Garden.

The next free forest school Friday session will be 1pm to 3pm 8th November 2019 at Palace Rd Nature Gardens.

Children have fun at Forest School Families project extra after school session

Charity Nature Vibezzz ran the first of 3 addtional Forest School Families project free after school sessions at Fern Lodge Estate Village Hall and Streatham Common 3:30pm to 5:30pm Wednesday 30th October 2019.

Next week Nature Vibezzz will be running another after school ssession at Fern Lodge Estate Village Hall 3:30pm to 5:30pm Wednesday 6th November 2019.

The forest school after school club started at Fern Lodge housing estate where children enjoyed free play, air hockey, table football, karting, board games, climbing, rope swing, jewellery making, role play games, art and much more.

 

New free family Forest School sessions at Plumstead Common

Charity Nature Vibezzz is pleased to announce that our Forest School Families Project has been extended.

There will be 2 extra free Forest School sessions at Plumstead Common Naturre Reserve

2pm to 4pm Sunday 3rd & 10th November at Plumstead Common Nature Reserve, Vicarage Park, London SE18 7SR

Plumstead Common Nature Reserve

Situated at the west end of Plumstead Common, behind Blendon Terrace and Azile Everett House, this is a wooded area containing a variety of trees. There is 2 entrances one on Vicarage Road between Spiral community garden and Azile Everett House (tower block), and the other near tennis courts on common.

While it is not an official nature reserve, a wooded ravine at the edge of Plumstead Common is recognised as a nature conservation area. This reserve was originally part of the garden of St Mary’s vicarage and is largely made up of woodland. There are a number of different trees here including: sycamore (which is being gradually thinned and coppiced), ash, a number of mature false acacia, some London planes, holly and sessile, English oaks, of special note is an old black mulberry. The reserve is a haven for bird life, and in the open areas different species of butterfly can be seen.
